Sie nennen sich RED CORRIDOR und bilden eine künstlerische Gemeinschaft im Zeichen des Raumes, seiner Farbe und eines gemeinsamen Weges. Die Rede ist von den drei Künstlern Rudi Neuland, Joanna Skurska und Leszek Skurski, die sich zu einer international tätigen Gruppe mit dem Schwerpunkt Deutschland zusammengefunden haben. Ihre Ziele sind die gemeinsame Arbeit und Präsentation der Werke, die gegenseitige Unterstützung sowie die Weiterentwicklung im kritischen Miteinander, im künstlerischen Dialog. Und dies jeder auf seine eigene Ausdrucksweise, in der ihm eigenen Formensprache. Die Basis für diesen Zusammenschluss bildet eine gemeinsame Sprache, eine gleiche Philosophie oder Vorstellung von der Kunst, von dem künstlerischen Wollen: Immer authentisch und ehrlich sein, manchmal kritisch und kompromisslos, nie gefällig, ständig etwas Neues wagen, mit dem Blick für oder auf das Entsprechende und Ansprechende.
Der Name RED CORRIDOR ist eine Metapher. Er steht für vieles, was die drei Künstler beschäftigt, was sie bewegt. Und er deutet einiges an, was in ihren Werken auf verschiedenen Ebenen zum Ausdruck kommt:
„Die Farbe ROT in all ihren Nuancen und Ausprägungen fasziniert uns alle gleichermaßen: Sie steht für Dynamik, Schaffensdrang, Energie, Impulsivität, Angriff, Signal, Feuer, lebendige Schönheit, blutige Gewalt, Sex, Liebe ... Dabei spielt sie auch als gesellschaftspolitische Gesinnung eine Rolle, wenngleich keine große.
KORRIDOR ist der Raum davor, dazwischen – er erschließt „Neues“, neue Räume, neue Gedanken, neue Werke. Der Korridor ist dunkel und geheimnisvoll. Vielleicht ist er Niemandsland, informelle Zone, Fenster zum Licht. Der Korridor lädt nicht zum Verweilen ein. Er ist Warteraum, Durchgang, qualvolle Erfahrung. Er ist der Weg oder Umweg, den wir gerne nehmen – sozusagen als künstlerische Erfahrung. Geschichtlich gesehen hat der Korridor etwas mit Danzig zu tun, mit einer Zone, einem Streifen durch anderes, durch fremdes Gebiet.
Und warum ist der Korridor ROT? Weil er nicht anders sein kann – allenfalls weiß oder schwarz –, aber dann doch ROT, weil ROT für alles steht, was wir drei mit Leidenschaft leben“.

They call themselves RED CORRIDOR - a group of artists with a common sense of space and its colour, and a shared direction. We are talking about Rudi Neuland, Joanna Skurska and Leszek Skurski, who have combined to form an internationally active art group focusing on Germany. Their aims are joint production and presentation of their work, mutual support as well as fostering their development through critical cooperation and dialogue on art issues – while recognizing each one’s own mode of expression and own characteristic artistic language. The basis of this cooperative venture is a shared language, a similar philosophy or conception of art and of the artistic drive: Striving always to be authentic and honest, yet at times critical and uncompromising, never aiming merely to please, ever keen to risk something new, with an eye for what is relevant and appealing.
The name RED CORRIDOR is a metaphor. It refers to many aspects of concern to the three artists. It also suggests something which finds expression at various levels in their works.
“We are all equally fascinated by the colour RED in all its nuances and expressions. It signifies dynamism, creativity, energy, impulsiveness, aggression, a signal, fire, living beauty, bloody violence, sex, love … At the same time it also plays a role in a sociopolitical context, albeit not an important one.
CORRIDOR denotes the space in front and in between – it unlocks what is new, new spaces, new ideas, new works. The corridor is dark and mysterious. Perhaps it is no-man’s-land, an informal zone, a window towards the light. The corridor does not invite one to spend time. It is a waiting room, a passageway, a painful experience. It is the road or detour, which we like to take – as an artistic experience as it were. Historically, the corridor is somehow associated with “Danzig”, a zone, a stretch of land through another, a foreign country.
Why is the corridor RED? Because it can’t be otherwise – except perhaps white or black -, but actually RED because RED signifies everything the three of us passionately live.”
